I have another lamp makeover to reveal! I sourced a large, battered brass lamp and a decent-sized drum shade from Goodwill. I’ve repainted several brass lamps in the past, but only because they’ve been beyond repair. I’m not totally averse to brass–just allergic to those items that are superrrr grimy. I really liked this lamp in particular because it has great curves at its base. Only had to invest a combined $10.94 for both pieces–$6.97 for the lamp and $3.97 for the drum shade. Not a terrible day’s haul. I decided on spray painting the lamp gold and covering the shade in a 2 inch wide navy ribbon.

I love owls. I have an owl lamp, two owl vases, and even owl earrings. While perusing my favorite thrift shop, I found an adorable owl figurine for $1.97. In its original painted state, it looked a little dated. The various shades of brown made the little guy look a bit angry. I knew with a touch of spray paint it could take on a new, modern life.

I’ve got another big project in the works! Next item on the agenda: painting a campaign nightstand I picked up at Goodwill. I must admit, I’ve fallen victim to the current campaign craze. And fallen hard. I LOVE the style. The drawer pulls are great, and the corner hardware have just the right amount of interest without being overpowering. I have been keeping my eye out for anything campaign-style for a while and found one! The piece is in great shape and isn’t missing anything. I actually found a couple odd Scrabble tiles in the drawers. Bonus. What is the best part, you ask? It only cost $4.97! I’ll have to put some money into the supplies, but I think its a worthy investment.

Just a quick before and after today, fellow craft enthusiasts! I’m always looking to makeover lamps, especially if I can find the lamp and/or shade for free. I found an old lamp in a closet and set out to reinvigorate it. The final product ended up being crisp white and dark pink–my two favorite colors.
